Torn earlobes are a common problem. Years of wearing heavy earrings, or trauma to the earlobe, can cause your ear-piercing hole to stretch and become deformed. Stretched or torn earlobes make it difficult to keep earrings in and don’t look great.

Surgical repair of a torn earlobe is a quick and simple procedure that is done in the office under local anesthesia. I use advanced surgical techniques to repair the damaged hole and restore a pleasing shape to the earlobe. Some holes are torn all the way through, and others are just stretched out— but either way, the fix is easy.

For the procedure I numb the earlobe with a local anesthetic. Then, I remove the damaged area and suture the healthy tissue together. There is no downtime after the procedure. Usually, patients do both sides at the same time. Seven to ten days after the procedure, the sutures are removed. Patients usually return to the office in about six weeks to have the ear re-pierced.
