Most of my patients who have cosmetic eyelid surgery are active and want to return to their routines as quickly as possible. I coach my patients before and after surgery with suggestions for diet and lifestyle choices that can speed up recovery.
In the weeks before surgery, I tell my patients to get plenty of sleep, avoid excess alcohol, avoid sugar and processed food, and to exercise. This helps ensure that their bodies will be optimized to heal and recover after cosmetic eyelid surgery.
For the two weeks after surgery, activity is limited, so I encourage patients to continue healthy eating and good sleep habits. Most patients can return to a normal routine (excluding heavy exercise) after a few days.
