What is the difference between Botox®, Xeomin®, and Dysport®?
The world of neuromodulators has become more confusing over the past several years with the introduction of several new products. Here I hope to answer some common questions.
What are Neuromodulators?
Neuromodulators, such as Botox®, Xeomin® and Dysport®, are substances that cause muscles to relax. When injected into specific muscles in the face, they soften the wrinkles. If done on a regular basis, they can also help prevent the formation of new wrinkles.
Are there any immediate side effects?
You may experience minor swelling at the injection site. This swelling resolves after about 15 minutes, so you can go about your normal activities immediately after receiving treatment. Although uncommon, you may also have slight bruising at the injection site. You can apply makeup right after the injection.

How long does a treatment last?
In most patients, results of neuromodulator injection typically last between 3-4 month. Call us at (212) 832-5456 or request online that we call you back by submitting our online request form here.
